Heidelberg Castle Illuminations: 4 June, 9 July, and 3 September.
Every summer on three Saturdays, Heidelberg Castle in Baden-Württemberg is beautifully illuminated as darkness begins to fall. On 4 June, 9 July and 3 September, Bengal fires flicker against the walls of the ruin and illuminate the picturesque façade of the castle.
The spectacle is accompanied by a stunning firework display that radiates across the night sky over the romantic old quarter. One of the best places from which to watch this colourful
spectacle is the deck of a Rhine-Neckar riverboat.
