May 17 – 22 – For the 41st time Dresden will celebrate this open-air festival which is among the biggest, continuous and oldest traditional Jazz Festivals in
Europe.
The festival ends traditionally with a 13 miles long parade through the city.

The International Dixieland Festival in Dresden is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
From 8 to 16 May, 40 bands and solo artists from twelve countries will be entertaining the crowds. The festival‘s 60 concerts offer more than 240 hours of jazz between them, of which 100 hours will be
free of charge. Street parades, concert halls, hotels, student clubs and bars, plus famous ships on the Elbe and Dresden‘s largest open-air stage, will reverberate to singing and swing dancing.
