The porcelain manufacturer Reichenbach will be holding its Christmas celebration in Reichenbach/Thür on the first Sunday of Advent (28 November), 9am to 8pm. A festive atmosphere awaits visitors, who can treat themselves to coffee, cakes, glühwein and Thuringian bratwurst while picking up bargains at the great discount sale. Entertainment will be provided in the form of make-your-own activities for young and old alike.

Every year, Göttingen pays homage to the distinguished composer George Frideric Handel.
The theme of the 90th International Handel Festival, which runs from 14 to 25 May 2010, is Handel & Hannover, marking the time that Handel spent in the Herrenhausen district of Hannover 300 years ago.
The highlights include a performance of Messiah, in an arrangement by German composer Johann Adam Hiller, that was long believed to have been lost, plus the sombrely dramatic opera Tamerlano, directed by Johanna Garpe.
