The City Festival in Dresden, about two hours south of Berlin, is a colorful event with live music, ancient spectacles and activities – granting fun for the whole family.

For three days and nights various events as well as the Saxon Steam Boat Festival turn the city center of Dresden into one great party location with a
huge number of festival areas.
All concerts and events are free of charge.

International Dixieland Festival in Dresden in May 2010

The International Dixieland Festival in Dresden is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

From 8 to 16 May, 40 bands and solo artists from twelve countries will be entertaining the crowds. The festival‘s 60 concerts offer more than 240 hours of jazz between them, of which 100 hours will be
free of charge. Street parades, concert halls, hotels, student clubs and bars, plus famous ships on the Elbe and Dresden‘s largest open-air stage, will reverberate to singing and swing dancing.
