(Saxony-Anhalt) The 450th anniversary of Philipp Melanchthon’s death falls on 19 April 2010. Visitors to Wittenberg, his adopted home, can celebrate the church reformer during a Melanchthon-themed weekend (16 to 19 April 2010). On Thursday 16 April the Melanchthon House in Wittenberg unveils its new exhibition. Theatre, music and literature come to the fore during Melanchthon night on Friday 17 April. The Saturday sees the great scholar remembered with commemorative church services, concerts and a reading. Finally, on Sunday 19 April, representatives from the state, church and the world of politics will hold a ceremony in Melanchthon’s honour in Wittenberg Castle Church.
