Thursday, 31-Mar-2011Germany celebrates this year the life and work of Europe’s first pop-star: famous composer Franz Liszt. Dresden in Saxony, several towns in the state of Thuringia and Bayreuth in Bavaria will be pulling out all the stops for the celebration of Liszt’s 200th birthday.

Thursday, 03-Mar-2011The Staatskapelle Weimar orchestra opens Thuringia‘s year-long celebration of Liszt with a special concert entitled ‚Lebenslinien‘ (life lines) featuring works by Liszt, Strauss and Wagner.
The performance begins at 7.30pm on 16 February in the main hall of the Weimarhalle congress centre.
